Junior High Performance Sculling Program
Information Meeting on Sept. 7, 2019 at 12 noon
The Junior HP program will fall under the oversight of CRC Program Director Jon Stephanik and coach Craig Hoffman. The program’s goal is to field a select team that provides the greatest opportunity for success at regattas.
The Conshohocken Rowing Center is expanding its competitive programming this fall 2019. We will be running a year-round Junior (ages 15-18) High Performance Sculling program. The program provides a world class facility and top-of-the-line equipment in addition to other resources and opportunities.
Our mission: to encourage high performance boat skills and ensure athletes are given the best equipment and practices to be successful in their development as elite athletes. We will develop elite junior athletes to compete and represent the United States in world championship events.
Led by Head Coach Craig Hoffman and Assistant Coach Lyons Bradley, we are accepting applications to fill 12-16 spots, both men and women. The group will compete at all local Philadelphia fall regattas, the Head of the Charles, Silver Skiff Regatta in Torino, Italy, and will have opportunities for scrimmages. Spring events include San Diego Crew Classic, Mercer Sprints, US Rowing Mid Atlantics, US Rowing Youth National Championships, Henley Royal Regatta in England, Junior Worlds Trials, and Canadian Henley.
In order to be eligible for fall rowing athletes must also compete for CRC in the spring. This provides the opportunity to represent CRC at Youth Nationals and English Henley.
Practices will be Monday-Thursday 4-6:30, Saturday 9:30-12. There will be limited practices on Friday, boathouse schedule permitting. On testing days (ACT & SAT) practice will be moved to 3-6 p.m.
In order to be considered for CRC's Junior HP program all athletes must fill out an application.
